Rajeshman Singh, Mayor of Birgunj Metropolitan City, informed that continuous heavy rain has caused waterlogging problems in various parts of the city. \u201cThe heavy and continuous rainfall has led to drainage issues. However, no loss of life or property has been reported so far due to flooding,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He added, \u201cIn all 32 wards of the metropolitan city, some areas are experiencing water accumulation due to improper drainage.\u201d With rising water levels in the Sirsiya River, high alert has been maintained in settlements near the river. \u201cEfforts are underway to relocate residents living near the Sirsiya River, considering the potential risk,\u201d he said. Mayor Singh also mentioned that people from flood-affected areas in Ward No. 11 and 17 are being moved to safer places.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cSchools and community halls in various neighborhoods have been instructed to remain open to accommodate those affected by flooding,\u201d he added. \u201cRescue operations are ongoing in coordination with everyone.\u201d He further claimed that a previously constructed dam on the Bhedaha Khola has held up well, preventing major damage this time. \u201cIn the past, Bhedaha Khola caused significant damage in Ward No. 31 and other wards,\u201d he said. \u201cSo far, the dam has held, but how long it will withstand is uncertain.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
