<\/a><\/div> <\/div> <\/div>\n\n\n\n One of the ancient and sacred traditions of the Newar community, the Thecho Navadurga Dance<\/strong>, was performed at the Moolchowk courtyard of Patan Durbar Square. The ritual procession began from the goddess\u2019s house in Thecho, where devotees dressed as deities (Devgan<\/em>) in traditional attire and masks carried the main goddess (Mu Dya:<\/em>), masks, ornaments, and ritual items to the historic Moolchowk.<\/p>\n\n\n\nThis dance is also performed on Vijaya Dashami (Tika Day)<\/strong> during the Dashain festival. On this occasion, the Navadurga troupe follows the tradition of visiting Manmaneshwori Devi<\/strong>, who is also worshipped as Taleju<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\nThe centuries-old ritual is an integral part of the Dashain festival and is performed twice every year \u2014 on Vijaya Dashami<\/strong> and Kojagrat Purnima<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\nBefore the performance, 34 participants, including 11 Devgan<\/em>, 3 Naik<\/em> (religious leaders), and other Guthiyaar<\/em> members, conducted worship rituals at the goddess\u2019s residence in Thecho.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" One of the ancient and sacred traditions of the Newar community, the Thecho Navadurga Dance, was performed at the Moolchowk courtyard of Patan Durbar Square.
