After falling by <strong>58 points on Tuesday<\/strong>, the benchmark index dropped again by <strong>45.36 points on Wednesday<\/strong>, closing at <strong>2,559.59 points<\/strong>, down by <strong>1.74 percent<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Despite the decline in the index, the <strong>trading volume increased<\/strong> compared to the previous day. The total turnover rose from <strong>Rs 4.62 billion on Tuesday<\/strong> to <strong>Rs 5.76 billion on Wednesday<\/strong>, with <strong>13.7 million shares<\/strong> traded, according to the Nepal Stock Exchange.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On the day, the share prices of <strong>18 companies<\/strong> increased, while <strong>232 declined<\/strong> and <strong>one remained unchanged<\/strong>. The top gainers included <strong>Sangrila Development Bank Debenture<\/strong>, <strong>Nepal Investment Mega Debenture<\/strong>, <strong>Atmanirbhar Laghubitta<\/strong>, <strong>Three Star Hydropower<\/strong>, and <strong>SBL Debenture<\/strong>, each rising by up to <strong>7.09 percent<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Meanwhile, major losers included <strong>Prabhu Insurance<\/strong>, <strong>Manjushree Finance<\/strong>, <strong>First Microfinance<\/strong>, <strong>Sayapatri Hydropower<\/strong>, and <strong>RBB Mutual Fund<\/strong>, which fell by as much as <strong>6.12 percent<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In terms of transaction volume, <strong>Nepal Reinsurance Company (Nepal Re)<\/strong> led the market with shares worth <strong>Rs 260 million<\/strong> traded, followed by <strong>Union Hydropower<\/strong>, which recorded <strong>Rs 240 million<\/strong> in transactions.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) continued its downward trend for the second straight day.
