CPN-UML to Withdraw Support from Madhesh Province Government

The CPN-UML has decided to withdraw its support from the Madhesh Province government. According to UML’s Chief Whip Hari Narayan Mahat, the party will submit a formal letter of withdrawal to the Province Chief at 4 PM today.

Chief Minister Satish Kumar Singh of the Janamat Party had announced his resignation on Facebook on Bhadra 24 during the GenZ protests but later withdrew his resignation.

Earlier, the Janamat Party itself had already withdrawn its support from the government and the Speaker Ram Chandra Mandal on Bhadra 31, while the Nepali Congress had pulled out about a week before that.

Singh had become Chief Minister on Jestha 25, 2081 BS, with the backing of the CPN-UML and other parties.
