The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) has filed a corruption case at the Special Court on Wednesday against seven individuals, including former Federal Affairs and General Administration Minister Raj Kumar Gupta, former Land Management Minister Balram Adhikari, and former Minister Ranjita Shrestha, in connection with the Pokhara Lichhibari land scandal. Sanu Bhai (Yuvraj Gurung), a notorious gang leader known for extortion, has been arrested again. He was apprehended on Sunday in Tokha, Kathmandu, on charges of assault. Sanu Bhai, 33, originally from Kakani Rural Municipality-5, Nuwakot, and residing in Suryadarshan Height, Tokha, was previously arrested on July 28 (Shrawan 12). Two of the road sections connecting Hetauda and Kathmandu, which had been blocked due to continuous rainfall, have reopened this morning. In Tripurasundari Rural Municipality–5 of Dhading, a 55-year-old woman, Ram Maya Kandel, was murdered by her son, according to police. The accused, 30-year-old Yam Bahadur Kandel, allegedly attacked his mother with a sharp weapon on Sunday night, striking her in the neck and chest, leading to her death. Police reported that the suspect was arrested at the scene along with the weapon used in the crime.
