CPN-UML General Secretary Shankar Pokharel has emphasized the need for generational balance in political leadership and social organization. Referring to Eastern philosophy, which envisions society through the combination of four generations, Pokharel claimed that UML has advanced party-building with the integration of three generations.
Pokharel wrote, “Politics and social organization cannot be the subject of a single generation alone. Dissatisfaction and rebellion at a particular time have their place, but politics and society must also attempt to address the aspirations of the younger generation.”
He further clarified that while the energy and aspirations of the youth are significant, considering them as the sole path for the future would be an illusion.
