Two of the road sections connecting Hetauda and Kathmandu, which had been blocked due to continuous rainfall, have reopened this morning.
According to Inspector Thakur Sapkota of the Makawanpur District Police Office, traffic has resumed on the Hetauda–Kulekhani–Fakhel–Pharping road section and the Hetauda–Palung–Naubise road section after landslides were cleared.
However, the Hetauda–Kathmandu Bhimphedi–Kulekhani–Sisneri road section and the Kanti Lokpath road section remain closed. Inspector Sapkota informed that part of the road along the Bhimphedi–Kulekhani–Sisneri section was washed away by the Dodhare Khola stream, and another landslide near Dakshinkali Temple has made vehicle movement impossible. Reconstruction and debris clearance work are ongoing.
Similarly, the Kanti Lokpath road section has also been damaged after a landslide washed away part of the road near Bagua Khola. Police reported that landslide clearance and road repair efforts are in progress in several locations.
