Nepse Falls Sharply for Second Consecutive Day; Trading Volume Increases

The Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) continued its downward trend for the second straight day. After falling by 58 points on Tuesday, the benchmark index dropped again by 45.36 points on Wednesday, closing at 2,559.59 points, down by 1.74 percent. Despite the decline in the index, the trading volume increased compared to the previous day. The total turnover rose from Rs 4.62 billion on Tuesday to Rs 5.76 billion on Wednesday, with 13.7 million shares traded, according to the Nepal Stock Exchange. Two of the road sections connecting Hetauda and Kathmandu, which had been blocked due to continuous rainfall, have reopened this morning. In Tripurasundari Rural Municipality–5 of Dhading, a 55-year-old woman, Ram Maya Kandel, was murdered by her son, according to police.
