Two people were killed and three others injured in a motorcycle collision at Banouli, Khadak Municipality–11, along the Hulaki Road section in Saptari.
According to police, a motorcycle (Madhesh Province 01–005 Pa 6832) heading towards Rajbiraj from Bodebarsain collided head-on with another motorcycle (Madhesh Province 2–01–003 Pa 6932) coming from the opposite direction.
One of the victims, 28-year-old Chintamani Chaudhary, a resident of Khadak Municipality–10 Belaha, succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment at Chhinnamasta Hospital, Rajbiraj, on Thursday night. Another rider, 27-year-old Sobin Chaudhary, from Surunga Municipality–7, also died during treatment around 11 PM, according to Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Dambar Puri of Saptari District Police Office.
The bodies of the deceased were handed over to their families after postmortem examination on Friday.
Among the injured are 25-year-old Ramita Chaudhary, wife of Sobin Chaudhary, who sustained injuries to her abdomen and both legs, and 8-year-old Rachana Chaudhary, daughter of Sobin’s friend Santosh Chaudhary, who suffered head and leg injuries. Both are receiving treatment, police confirmed.
