The Flood Forecasting and Warning Center has issued a red alert this morning (Saturday) for 20 districts, including Kathmandu, due to continuous rainfall.
The center has indicated an extremely high risk of flooding in Kathmandu, Lalitpur, Bhaktapur, Sindhupalchok, Kavrepalanchok, Sunsari, Udayapur, Saptari, Siraha, Dhanusha, Mahottari, Sarlahi, Rautahat, Bara, Parsa, Sindhuli, Dolakha, Ramechhap, Makwanpur, Chitwan, and surrounding districts.
Additionally, Ilam, Jhapa, Morang, Dhankuta, Tehrathum, Panchthar, Bhojpur, Khotang, Okhaldhunga, Solukhumbu, Sankhuwasabha, Taplejung, Rasuwa, Nuwakot, Dhading, Gorkha, Nawalparasi East, Nawalparasi West, Rupandehi, Kapilvastu, and nearby districts are also facing a high risk of flooding, the center reported.
Furthermore, in Kaski, Lamjung, Parbat, Syangja, Tanahun, Gulmi, Palpa, Arghakhanchi, Pyuthan, Dang, Banke, Bardiya, and nearby districts, small rivers are expected to swell significantly, with a medium risk of flash floods likely, according to the Flood Forecasting and Warning Center.
