Several major highways across the country remain fully blocked due to continuous rainfall and landslides, according to a situation report published by Nepal Police at 6:40 AM on Monday.
Major Road Closures:
- Koshi Province
- Koshi Highway: Blocked at Barun Khola (Bhotkhola-4), Ekua (Makalu-3), and between Mane Bhanjyang-6 and 7 in Sankhuwasabha.
- Siddhicharan Highway: Obstructed at Bhandare Khola in Okhaldhunga and at Katari Municipality in Udayapur.
- Mid-Hill/Koshi Highway: Closed at Pakhriwas Dikure, Chanoute (Sangurigadhi), and Sasimuswa in Dhankuta.
- Mechi Highway: Completely blocked in Ilam Municipality.
- Bagmati Province
- Pasang Lhamu Highway: Blocked at multiple points between Gosaikunda Rural Municipality-2 and 5 up to Syabrubesi in Rasuwa.
- Sindhupalchok: Blockage at Char Kilo in Bhotekoshi Rural Municipality-4.
- Kavrepalanchok: Roads obstructed at Dalabesi and Buldhunga.
- Makwanpur: Blocked at Bhimphedi and Bakaiya areas.
- Dakshinkali–Kathmandu Section: Closed at Sisneri Bazar, Indrasarowar-3.
- Madan Bhandari Highway (Sindhuli): Partially resumed at Sindure in Marin-2.
- BP Highway (Sindhuli): Fully blocked at Phikkal and Nepal Thok.
Authorities have warned travelers to avoid unnecessary journeys until road clearance work progresses. Road maintenance and rescue teams have been mobilized, but continued rainfall and risk of further landslides remain a challenge.
