In Tripurasundari Rural Municipality–5 of Dhading, a 55-year-old woman, Ram Maya Kandel, was murdered by her son, according to police.
The accused, 30-year-old Yam Bahadur Kandel, allegedly attacked his mother with a sharp weapon on Sunday night, striking her in the neck and chest, leading to her death.
Police reported that the suspect was arrested at the scene along with the weapon used in the crime.
Yam Bahadur had earlier appeared in viral videos of the protest movement held on September 8–9 (Bhadra 23–24). His videos had been widely circulated on social media after the demonstrations.
The incident has shocked the local community, and police stated that further investigation is underway.
