Baglung – A pickup accident in Baglung has claimed the life of one person and left two others injured. The incident occurred on Friday evening near Gaighat, Tara Khola, in Tara Khola Rural Municipality–1. The deceased has been identified as 24-year-old Dinesh Thapa from Sardakhet, Galkot Municipality–5.
The pickup, bearing registration number Ga 1 Ja 6100, was traveling from Galkot Hatiya Bazaar to Tara Khola when the accident occurred. Two others were injured: 24-year-old Milan Pariyar and 43-year-old Birbal Pariyar, both from Galkot Municipality–5.
According to Inspector Keshav Thapa, spokesperson for Baglung District Police Office, Birbal Pariyar sustained serious injuries and, after receiving initial treatment at Galkot Municipal Hospital, was referred to Pokhara. Milan Pariyar is receiving treatment at Galkot Hospital.
The vehicle fell approximately 20 meters off the road into Tara Khola. Police teams from Galkot immediately reached the site and conducted rescue operations following the accident.
