In the past two days, a total of 40 people have died across Nepal due to various disasters. The Armed Police Force of Nepal reported that 13 people were injured in incidents including floods, landslides, lightning strikes, and road accidents.
Additionally, 11 people are reported missing due to these disasters. In Ilam district alone, 28 people lost their lives and two were seriously injured due to floods and landslides, according to the Armed Police Force.
Shailendra Thapa, Deputy Spokesperson of the Armed Police Force, provided a breakdown of the deaths in Ilam: five in Suryodaya Municipality, six in Ilam Municipality, two in Deumai Municipality, one in Fikkphokthum Rural Municipality, three in Mangsebung Rural Municipality, eight in Maijogmai Rural Municipality, and three in Sandakpur Rural Municipality.
Elsewhere, floods and landslides claimed two lives in Udayapur, three in Rautahat, four in Rasuwa, and one in Kathmandu. Eight people were injured by lightning strikes in Khotang, Bhojpur, Rautahat, and Makwanpur. In addition, five people died and six were injured in road accidents in Panchthar.
